Benefits of choosing a Worcester Bosch compact boiler

When choosing a new boiler, it can be a little overwhelming. Between system boilers, conventional boilers, and compact boilers, there is a lot to choose from. And that’s before you consider the power of the boiler, and how many bathrooms or radiators you need to supply. But one option that is becoming increasingly popular is the Worcester Bosch compact boiler. This is a type of combination boiler, providing hot water and heating from the same device, without any need for additional storage. So what are the advantages of a Worcester Bosch compact boiler? And why should you choose one? Well, here at Mark Vernon Heating and Plumbing, we are leading boiler experts. As a result, we have produced this guide to why you should choose a Worcester Bosch compact boiler.

What are the benefits of choosing a Worcester Bosch compact boiler?

So, what are the benefits of a Worcester Bosch compact boiler? Well, there are several, including:

  • Range of installation choices- a compact boiler is built to be just that, compact. So it can fit in the airing cupboard, kitchen cupboard or even under the stairs, without any hassle. Other types of boiler, particularly system and conventional boilers, will need more room, especially when you consider the tanks and cylinders.
  • High efficiency- All of the Worcester Bosch compact boiler range are rated A for energy efficiency. This means that they use less energy to heat your home, so you can pay less for bills, and also reduce your carbon footprint. That’s a win/win situation.
  • Instant hot water- with a compact boiler, hot water is instantly available at all times, whenever you want it. However, you should bear in mind that hot water can only be supplied to one tap at a time, as the water is pulled from the mains, heated instantly, and then directed to the right place. For a property with multiple bathrooms, a system or conventional boiler can be a better option.

Replacing your Worcester Bosch boiler

Here at Mark Vernon Heating and Plumbing, we are leading  Worcester Bosch experts. And this is our to guide to everything you should consider when replacing your Worcester Bosch boiler.

What are the important considerations when replacing your Worcester Bosch boiler?

If you need to replace your Worcester Bosch boiler, there are a number of important things to consider. These include:

  • The type of boiler- there are a number of different types of boiler available to choose from. These include combination boilers, traditional boilers and system boilers. For most replacements, homeowners are usually happy to replace like for like. But if your circumstances have changes, or you’d like a different type of boiler, this is something to consider. Changing to a new type of boiler can be more difficult and costly to install in some circumstances, so you may need to take this into account.
  • The size of the boiler- choosing the right size boiler for your home can ensure that there is enough hot water to service your whole house, and power the central heating too, without wasting energy. Boilers that are too small will struggle to heat your property, and as a result experience more wear and tear and earlier burnout. Boilers that are too large will cost more money to heat, and use more fuel, for no reason.
  • The installation location of the boiler- the place within your home to install the new boiler is also an important consideration. From the garage to the basement or attic, or even the kitchen or bedroom, Worcester Bosch boilers can be installed safely in a range of places, but you may need to take some specific things into account, in some rooms. For example, frost protection in the cold garage.

Positioning a Worcester Bosch boiler in the kitchen

When installing a new boiler, one important consideration is the positioning. Loft’s, garages, and kitchens are three of the popular options. But what are the advantages of positioning a Worcester Bosch boiler in the kitchen? Well, here at Mark Vernon Heating and Plumbing, we are leading  Worcester Bosch experts. And this is our to guide to why you should consider positioning your new boiler in the kitchen.

What are the advantages of positioning a Worcester Bosch boiler in the kitchen?

There are a number of advantages to installing your new Worcester Bosch boiler in the kitchen. These advantages include:

  • Easier to maintain- boiler maintenance can help your boiler stay up and running for longer, with a high level of efficiency. And if your boiler is in a simple to access room, that is used daily, like the kitchen, it will be much easier to maintain. Even if you hide your boiler within a cupboard, it will be easier to access, and keep clean, than a boiler positioned in the loft.
  • Can be discrete- Worcester Bosch combination boilers can be installed discretely in your kitchen. This usually involves positioning the boiler within a unit or cabinet so that this is effectively hidden from view. This means that a kitchen boiler will not spoil the aesthetic of your space, which is often a key concern.
  • Notice problems- if your boiler is positioned in the kitchen there is more chance that you will notice a change in the consumer unit LED’s or status indicators. This means that you will notice problems or issues early, and these can be resolved before a full boiler breakdown.

Worcester Bosch boiler controls

Choosing the right boiler for your home is essential. You need to choose a boiler that is the right size, the right type and is installed correctly in the right position. But to get the most out of any boiler, you also need to understand the boiler controls. These will determine a range of factors including the temperature of the hot water and heating, and the timing of the heating system. But what are the Worcester Bosch boiler controls? Well, here at Mark Vernon, we are Worcester Bosch boiler experts. And this is our guide to everything you should know about controls for your boiler.

What are the different Worcester Bosch boiler controls?

For Worcester Bosch boilers, there are a number of different controls to consider. These include:

  • The boiler programmer- This is usually found on the front of the boiler, and is a system that allows you to set your heating and sometimes hot water, to switch on and off, at different times and on different days of the week. This doesn’t allow the temperature of the heating to adjust to the temperature of the room, or to changes to your schedule.
  • A room thermostat– A room thermostat is used to monitor and measure the air temperature of the room. Then you can adjust the thermostat to set the heating to a comfortable level, depending on your own requirements. Then, if the room temperature falls lower than the set thermostat level, the thermostat will communicate with the boiler, activating the heating. Once the room temperature increases above this level, the heating will be then turned off.

From April 2018, all of the new boilers that are installed in England must have a both a thermostat and timer fitted to meet building control requirements.
